The Darden School (UVA’s MBA and graduate business program) announced today the opening of a new building and innovation lab that will provide “experiential, team-based and collaborative learning opportunities, such as a design-based studio where students can transform concepts and ideas into physical prototypes.” The grand opening event will be March 19th and will include remarks by New York Times bestselling-author Daniel Pink.

First Wednesdays is a gathering of coders, designs, bloggers, marketers, and entrepenuers in Charlottesville.  Our goal is to meet up, hang out and increase Charlottesville’s internet cred.  Come out and bring a friend.  The only requirement is that you are interested in Business+Internet.

The first meeting last month went great so we’ll stick with what works: South Street.  We can discuss tonight if we want to relocate for next month.  Also, The Club is at South Street tonight at 9ish, so you can just stick around and hang out with the actual cool people in town.

We had a great group for the first ever First Wednesdays meeting last night at South Street.  It was fun!  Thanks to everyone that made it out and sorry to all the people that couldn’t make it (sorry about the late notice!).  I’m pumped about next month.

Put November 5th on your calendar for the next First Wednesdays.  We’ll discuss the impact of the newly elected president on technology OR we’ll discuss the failure of our officials to use technology to get a more accurate vote count (depending on how the previous day goes) OR we’ll just drink and eat nachos.

Our first meeting will be tonight at South Street brewery.  Come by 7:30ish and drink, hang out and meet other web developers, business owners, entrepenuers etc.  Chat with people that get your nerdy jokes about how lame “twitter” is.   No agenda except to hang out and maybe talk about what to do next month.

The Club is meeting around the corner at Cassis so that party can continue over there afterwards.  Don’t bring your laptop.  That’s too nerdy (but showing off your latest iPhone app is OK).
