The Central VA AMA (marketing association) is hosting a screening of Art & Copy this Friday night at the Paramount with a QA session with executive producer Kirk Souder afterwards.  The film profiles some of the giants of advertising and copyright and has won several film festive awards – including Sundance and Toronto.

From the film’s official description:

ART & COPY is a powerful new film about advertising and inspiration. Directed by Doug Pray (SURFWISE, SCRATCH, HYPE!), it reveals the work and wisdom of some of the most influential advertising creatives of our time — people who’ve profoundly impacted our culture, yet are virtually unknown outside their industry. We meet every first wednesday of the month at a bar / restaurant to-be-determine.  Follow this blog and check it the morning of to find out the location.  We meet from 7pm to whenever and everything is casual, chill, fun and engaging.  Drop by whenever, have a drink, hang out and meet new people.

Here we go…  We’ll have our first meeting October 1st at 7:30p, at a Downtown location to-be-determined.  Join the text list to make sure you know where it will be.  No agenda this week – we’ll just meet up, drink, hang out, and talk about what’s happening in the internet tubes.  We’ll see what happens. Bring a friend.  You can head over to the drinking club afterwards if that’s your thing.
